Description

This highly ornamental Chippendale escutcheon is included on a dressing table
made by John Townsend c. 1765-1775. The table is made of mahogany, and
crosshatching in the shells matches other pieces labeled by Townsend. It
is now at Winterthur.

Thomas Chippendale, an English cabinet maker, circa 1700s, was one of a handful of artisans and craftsmen whose legacy continues to be popular today. Our Chippendale pulls reflect the incorporation of Rococo, Gothic and Chinese influences that were influential during his time. With over 100 styles to choose from, there’s sure to be something for everyone!
